In 2005 we bought a 46 acre farm in Colton, OR.  I came with a farm house that was built prior to 1905, a large barn built around the same time, and a garage that had an apartment at the back.

The property had been a rental for over 10 years and was in desperate need of repairs.  The house was heated by baseboard heaters, which most didn’t work, and a wood stove.  The property was mostly pasture with a barbed wire fence with split cedar posts around the perimeter that was installed around 1960, so most of the posts were rotted.
